World Series
Before the birth of the World Series in 1903, there were other post season championships that took place as early as 1884. even though these were not officially recorded as World Series History, they provided a start off point for the what was recognized as the 'Fall Classic'. In the year 2008 the Philidalphia Phillies marched to the top of the baseball world. Now as Game 6 of the 2009 World Series hits TV's tonight, the New York Yankees are on the verge of knocking the phillies of their title. The Yankees have the Phillies with their backs against the wall as they lead the series 3 games to 2. Cliff Lee the Philidalphia's go to guy has started in both of their wins, unfortunately he will not be pitching tonight as Pedro Martinez will have big shoes to fill as they face elimination. New Yorks veteran Andy Pettitte has been in many clutch situations before and will be familiar to the pressure of the biggest game this year! New Yorks A-rod and Jeter the shortstop-3rd base combo have been very achieving when it comes to batting in the post season. Chase Utley has been the go to guy when it comes to hitting for philidalphia. He has already knocked 5 home runs outta the park in the world series! Game 6 has been very interesting in the past World Series. We'll see what history will be made tonight!
