My Game of Hockey

When I play hockey, being pretty small in size, I get looked down on by other players on the opposite team. They think that I will be a push over, that I'm not that good. But throughout games I show the other players you can't judge me by my size, by taking on anyone who tries to get past me with the puck, whether the be big or small I take them on and stop them from getting past me. When i get the puck I blow past all the other players getting the puck into their end either taking a shot on net, or setting another teammate up with a shot. All in all I end up having the other team watching out for me and I prove to everyone one you can't judge me by my size.

Baseball Anyone?

I never really payed attention to baseball much, thinking it was a boring game and no effort was needed for it. In my last year of Junior High School I decided I'd try baseball. Going to the tryouts I found that I was just about the oldest one trying out for the team. Many of the kids were a year or two below me, but most came out because their friends were there and some ending up getting hurt from not paying attention to the ball when I was tossing it to them. I soon found that quite a bit of effort was needed for the sport. I made the team and soon found out I was the powerhouse for that team always getting the grand slams being fourth to bat. I eventually had my whole team afraid of playing first base because I threw to fast for them to always catch.

The Joy of Soccer

I first started off with soccer at a young age, even before I started hockey. Back then there was no competition for winning or losing, it was all about having fun and playing fair. Eventually I moved to hockey, but I had a friend who was all about soccer and asked if I'd come out and play on the team he was on. After not playing for so many years I went back into playing soccer for another 2 years with my friend. But since I played hockey way to much, I had the tendency to forget soccer is not a physical contact sport and got quite a lot of yellow cards. I never had the fancy skills like most soccer players in the league, but I did have the drive to either get the ball where it had go or stop the other team from getting past me.

The Best To Ever Play

He was born in 1975 in Cypress California. At the age of 3 he was already shooting a score of 48 in 9 holes. His real name was Eldrick until he officially changed it in 1991. He was the youngest at 15 to win the US Junior Amateur 3 times in a row! AND at 18 he was the youngest to win the US Amateur, also 3 times in a row, dating back to 1994. He turned pro in the late summer of 1996 playing 7 tournaments. He achieved 2 first place finishes and 5 top 5 finishes. He won his first major in 1997, he conqured the Master's. To add, he was the youngest Master's winner at the age 21 years 3 months and 14 days. His career started of in a slow start as he only won once in 1998 however things began to change. In the season of 1999 he began his streak of consecutive 'Player of the Year' awards that went on to go until 2004; he was successful 8 times that year. His 2000' season is said to be the best PGA season ever played, he dominated the fairways 9 times. In 2001 when he won the Masters he was the only player to ever hold all four majors at the same time! He sits at 3rd in all time wins (71) at the age of 34. He still has a bright future, Tiger Woods is the best to ever play the game. He has done so much more than any other golfer out there. He has accomplished everything except for the most wins title. Tiger is the most intimidating, most feared, most competitive golfer you will ever see. The game will never see better than Tiger Woods.

Cleveland Cavaliers

Ever since Lebron James joined the Cavaliers in the season 2003-2004 he has been the key player to the organization. Standing 6'8, 250 pounds Lebron is a power horse in the NBA. No one can defend his ability to take the ball to the rim. His defense is beyond average and he can jump like a kangaroo. Lebron is one of the rare talented players in the NBA. He puts the Cleveland Cavaliers on his shoulders and since, he has led them through many exciting seasons! The Cavaliers have not won a championship just yet, however they have proved they are one of the few threats within the league. The Cavaliers were upset in the 2008-2009 Eastern Conference Finals by the Boston Celtics, which went on to win the championship, in a tough elimination loss. Clevelands disadvantage from other teams is their lack of being big down low. However to fix that problem they have added big man Shaquille O'neil to their roster. He has won a championship with Lakers All-Star Kobe Bryant and the Cavalier fans hope he can do the same for Cleveland. Cleveland Cavaliers definitely have a exciting future in store for them!

Awesome Sport

Hockey is one of the greatest game of sports ever, it is a sport I have been playing this sport for about 9-10 years now and I never grow old of it. The atmosphere of the dressing room, the feeling of stepping out onto the ice rink, scoring your first goal, the excitement from the cheering crowd, the adrenaline rush from crunching another player into the boards or laying them out onto the ice. Above all that just stepping out onto the ice to have fun is the best part.

The Young Athlete

Amateur sports are often cosidered higschool and junior highteams, however, an increasingly large number of children are beginning to join sports at a young age. As things like video games and computers are peaking in popularity, parents must learn to get their children active with sports such as soccer, baseball, and football. Not only will they learn to be active but can learn to:

  • Gain social skills through interaction with other children.
  • Improve old skills and gain new ones.
  • Challenge themselves and be successful
  • Have fun

The great thing about sports is children also learn how to use what they have learned combined with natual abilities to succeed.
